sri-bhagavan uvaca

su-durdarsham idam rupam drstavan asi yan mama
deva apy asya rupasya nityam darshana-kanksinah

naham vedair na tapasa na danena na cejyaya
sakya evam-vidho drastum drstavan asi mam yatha

TRANSLATION

Lord Krishna said:

My form that you have seen is very difficult to behold. Even the demigods are always keen to behold it. It can neither be viewed by the study of the Vedas, nor by religious austerities, nor by charity, nor by religious sacrifice.
