prakritim purusham caiva viddhy anadi ubhav api
vikarams ca gunams caiva viddhi prakriti-sambhavan

karya-karana-kartrtve hetuh prakritir ucyate
purushah sukha-duhkhanam bhoktrtve hetur ucyate

 

 

TRANSLATION


In this way, know Prakrti (matter) and Purusa (Individual Consciousness) to be eternal. Know the alteration of Prakriti and modes of Prakriti to be born of Prakriti.
