dvav imau purushau loke ksharas cakshara eva ca
ksharah sarvani bhutani kuta-stho ’kshara ucyate

uttamah purushas tv anyah paramatmety udahrtah
yo loka-trayam avisya bibharty avyaya ishvarah

 

 

TRANSLATION


In this world, there are two types of purush (person), the perishable and the imperishable. All living beings and bodies are perishable and the perfected soul as imperishable. But the Supreme Person is different from these (perishable and imperishable persons). Supreme Person, Who, by entering in the three worlds as Immortal God, fosters all living beings is called Paramatma (Supreme Soul).
